There are plenty of activities in North Texas that you and your family can enjoy this summer, we have a few ideas for nearby staycations and day trips! Just because you are spending the day in one place, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your time away. Visit Texas Discovery Gardens
Texas Discovery Gardens is a 7.5 acre organic garden featuring native and adapted plants. You’ll get to experience what it’s like to visit a rainforest. The Discovery Gardens also feature a two-story butterfly house. You can even learn about the various snakes of Texas and visit their gift shop too! It’s open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, with final daily tickets being sold at 4:15 pm. So if you’re wanting to learn more about our beautiful planet and it’s native plants, this is a fun and educational place to visit on your next day trip.
The Dallas World Aquarium
Currently, the Dallas World Aquarium has so much to offer! Some featured animals include the Citron-Throated Toucan, the Brown-Throated Three-Toed Sloth and the Orinoco Goose. The exhibits at the Dallas World Aquarium are spectacular and will give you an up close and personal experience with Mother Nature. They’re open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, so add this stop to your list of summer day trips!
Lunch and Shopping
Lastly, everyone needs a day of casual dining and shopping enjoying the day outdoors. Grab a fresh hot coffee or an ice cold beverage, along with some grocery shopping at Tom Thumb, stop by the Market at Valley Parkway in Lewisville, Texas and grab a bite to eat at Wok N’ Roll or Marco’s Pizza!
